Steve Dally spent his formative years fishing the saltwater expanse surrounding his island home in Tasmania. However, it wasn't until his late twenties that he took up a fly rod and found himself captivated by the allure of the long wand. He honed his skills by pursuing the wild brown trout that inhabit the waters of this renowned Australian trout haven. Eventually, in 2000, he embarked on a new chapter by relocating to the United States.

In his role as a freelance photo-journalist, Steve had the privilege of exploring some of the most exceptional waters across the US. From the remote landscapes of Alaska to the sprawling expanses of Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Michigan, and beyond, he immersed himself in the diverse angling opportunities these regions offered. Eventually, his journey led him to settle in the serene environs of Arkansas, particularly along the trophy tailwaters of the White River.

Presently, Steve is deeply involved in sharing his expertise with fellow anglers. He serves as a guide on both the White and Norfork Rivers, where he imparts his knowledge and passion for fly fishing to those who seek unforgettable experiences. Additionally, he plays a pivotal role as a partner and manager of Dally's Ozark Fly Fisher, located in Cotter. Through these endeavors, Steve continues to contribute to the fly fishing community, offering his insights and guidance to enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
