More than two decades ago, Rich made the transition from spinning gear to the art of fly fishing. In the years since, he has engaged in various outdoor communities, including the Shabbona Lake Sportsman's Club, the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance, and the St. James Knights of Columbus. He prefers working with synthetic materials, skillfully crafting fly patterns tailored for Smallmouth Bass, sizeable Bluegills, and Crappie.

Residing in Lee, Illinois, Rich shares his passion for fishing with his wife, Trudy. Together, they are the proud parents of three daughters and doting grandparents to three enthusiastic grandkids who have embraced the world of angling.
