These angling endeavors took precedence over academic endeavors, bypassing the constraints of studying and writing papers.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWhile in DC, I discovered unexpected pockets of excellent fly fishing in unlikely locales. This exploration greatly expanded my knowledge of fly design and fishing techniques. I adapted my trout patterns to suit the unique conditions of the Potomac River, scaling up for smallmouth, shad, striped bass, and even walleyes. The diversity of fish species that call the Potomac home was surprising and inspiring, making it a place that holds a special corner in my angling heart.
