Mack’s passion for fly fishing and tying flies began over 30 years ago in the basement of a dear friend’s house in Martinsville, VA. From that point on pursuing bass, bluegill, and trout in the local lakes and rivers consumed most of his free time. The pond on his family’s farm became a “playground” and testing facility for new creations from the vise. He would often drive to Roanoke, VA to spend time with the folks at Blue Ridge Fly Fishers always hoping to glean some wisdom from those guys to further his fly-tying abilities.  He transitioned over to saltwater flies about 15 years ago, and that’s really where his heart has been ever since.  He considers himself fortunate enough to make many friends and be able to fish some fantastic waters over the last 30 years.
