FLY DESIGNER
Jeff Shatto
After graduating from TCU in 1988, Captain Jeff Shatto embarked on a journey into the world of fly fishing. What began as a simple hobby quickly evolved into an all-consuming passion and eventually led him down the path of turning his love for fishing into a full-fledged profession. From 2000 to 2005, Jeff thrived as a full-time guide in Rockport, Tx, for five years. His expertise revolved around sight casting the flats, honing in on redfish and speckled trout as his primary targets.
Although Jeff has transitioned away from professional guiding, his connection to the coastal lifestyle endures as he maintains a residence by the shore. His commitment to fly fishing remains unwavering, and he casts lines enthusiastically and enthusiastically.
In addition to his angling pursuits, Jeff demonstrates his caring nature by dedicating a few hours each Tuesday evening to volunteering at the M D Anderson Cancer Center. During these meaningful sessions, he engages in fly tying and shares heartwarming fishing stories with patients and their families. This charitable endeavor has yielded Jeff's most notable fly patterns, such as the acclaimed H-Bomb. The proceeds generated from the H-Bomb contribute to valuable causes, as they are directed toward supporting both M D Anderson and The Rotary House.
