Born in New Orleans in 1959, Don's passion for fishing was nurtured early as he spent his formative years chasing specs (speckled trout) and reds (redfish). His fishing journey took a new direction when he ventured into the world of Fly-fishing in Wyoming, where his father resided. This began a lifelong fascination with the sport, leading him to explore various western states and even journey to Alaska to pursue thrilling angling experiences.

In 1980, Don made a life-changing move to Hawaii, and it was there that he truly immersed himself in Saltwater fly fishing. Becoming an avid enthusiast, he was captivated by the ocean's vast opportunities and challenges.

Aside from his passion for fishing, Don has a diverse professional life. He is a dedicated school teacher, a soccer coach, and a part-time fishing guide. His expertise and love for the sport have led him to become a sales representative for well-known fishing brands, including TFO (Temple Fork Outfitters), Rainy's Flies, and Teeny fly lines.
