FLY DESIGNER
Chris Mihulka
Hailing from Springfield, Oregon, a locale embraced between the glistening waters of the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers, Chris Mihulka's angling journey unfolded. At the tender age of 3, Chris was entrusted with a fly rod, and by the time he reached 7, the art of tying flies began to enthrall him. Youthful days were imbued with countless hours on the water, seizing every conceivable opportunity to indulge his passion.
In 1989, Chris was pivotal in establishing the McKenzie Fly Tackle Co. This endeavor exposed him to a diverse array of fish species eagerly responding to the allure of a fly. His presentations traversed landscapes, captivating everything from Montana Trout to the spirited Tarpon and Snook dwelling on the Gulf Coast. This exhilarating pursuit propelled Chris across the globe, casting his fly in distant corners, yet his heart remains loyal to the pursuit of trout, bass, and bluegill.
Celebrating over 35 years of marriage to Sharon, Chris's journey also encompasses the role of a devoted family man. The boat accompanying him on angling escapades now accommodates not only his twins, Ben and Sarah, but also the legacy of shared experiences and the joys of passing down the angling tradition to the next generation.
