At the tender age of 18, he embarked on a new journey by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, dedicating five honorable years to serving his country. During his time in the service, Chad's enthusiasm for fly fishing shone brightly as he introduced many of his fellow Marines to the art and joy of the sport.

Currently making his home in Mission Viejo, CA, Chad has embraced his role as the proprietor of Emerge Fly Fishing Specialties. His days are often filled with imparting his knowledge to budding anglers, crafting warm water strategies, and innovating new fly patterns that incorporate unique and uncommon materials, setting his creations apart.
