FLY DESIGNER
Adam Vincent
Born in Colorado, and raised in Northern Utah, Adam Vincent has been an outdoor enthusiast ever since he could remember, with a particular love for the Rocky Mountains. Naturally, the majority of his fly fishing life has been focused on trout, especially wild and native. As a lifetime artist, when his twin brother, Joseph, convinced him to start tying his own flies– he hit the ground running.
Due to the higher traffic of many of the water bodies near him, he was obligated to design patterns beyond the standards, patterns the wary trout didn’t see every day. He focuses on profiles from the trout’s perspective, making them as realistic as possible without losing any fishability. A stubborn dry fly fisherman through and through, he lives by the claim ‘nothing beats a surface take’, though he’s been known to fish big streamers from time to time.
You may see him at fly-tying expos throughout Utah and Idaho, or volunteering his time teaching tying classes, doing demonstrations, helping the DNR, or working with Trout Unlimited. The only thing he takes more seriously than fly fishing/tying, are his family and God. He lives in Northern Utah with his beautiful wife, Makayla, where they are raising two little anglers of their own.
